Rashtriya Military School, Chail is the oldest Rashitriya Military School with its inception in Jalandhar in 1925. Initially the school was established to provide education from class V to X which was upgraded to class XI and then to the 10+2 system of education. British Officers of the Royal Army Educational Corps were the pioneer commandants of the school at the time of its inception. The school was moved to Nowgong in Madhya Pradesh following the partition of Punjab in 1947 to ensure its safety. Finally in 1960, it was moved to Chail in Himachal Pradesh.
Over the years, Rashtriya Military School of Chail has made its mark as one of the best residential schools in the country. The school provides quality infrastructure along with state of the art training facilities and has sculpted the some of the best cadets of the country who later went on to become officers in the Indian Armed Forces. The school values and has incorporated discipline in its environment which is proved with each passing year by the success of its students in academics and co-curricular activities.
